SUSTAINABILITY AT MERCODIA
In 2024, we developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy to ensure our continued growth while upholding our role as a trusted partner both today and in the future.
Our vision is to improve human health through the use of our products and services by scientists worldwide. Together, we are shaping a future where sustainability is essential for both people and the planet.
At Mercodia, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and ensuring that future generations inherit a thriving world. Our sustainability efforts focus on circular and resource optimization, fostering a fair and inclusive workplace, and building trust and continuous learning—both within our organization and throughout our value chain.
By integrating sustainability into everything we do, we strive to create lasting positive change.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of our business practices through EcoVadis, a global leader in sustainability evaluations. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four main themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
In our most recent evaluation for 2025, we received a silver medal, placing us in the top 15% of assessed companies.
Additionally, Mercodia is dedicated to sustainable and responsible business practices. We have integrated the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact into our strategies and operations, committing ourselves to respecting human and labor rights, protecting the environment, and combating corruption in all its forms.
These recognitions highlight our commitment to sustainable practices and responsible business conduct, aligning with our vision for a better future.
Our core values—Professionalism, Stimulation, and Team Power—motivate us to make a positive impact on the world.

We actively contribute to the UN’s global goals, focusing particularly on Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Circularity & Resource Optimization
We are committed to waste reduction, recycling, and supporting a circular economy. We will decrease our carbon footprint throughout our value chain, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint throughout our value chain, and we will continuously seek opportunities to minimize our environmental impact. We aim to reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2023 baseline. We will start to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 2025 from our supply chain and product life cycle with the goal of fully calculating Scope 3 within the next years.

Fair & Inclusive Workplace
We prioritize wellbeing and fair treatment of all our employees and partners. We want to collaborate with our partners and empower the life science community.
We are dedicated to engaging with the life science communities in which we operate, contributing positively through our business practices. We partner with IFU Arena to promote local health. On the first Monday of each month, we invite all employees to an inspirational breakfast. This initiative aims to empower our employees and strengthen the community in which we operate.
Trust & Continuous Learning
We have our own Code of Conduct and sustainability strategy as a standard for how we qualify suppliers and distributors. To grow our business, we commit to reinvesting at least half of the profit into innovation and technologies to support sustainable development and production. Mercodia is committed to conducting business with the highest levels of integrity, transparency, and accountability according to our Code of Conduct. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
We have a Supplier and Distributor Code of Conduct that sets forth our expectations for responsible business practices. We will work closely with our suppliers and distributors to ensure they adhere to this Code of Conduct.
Mercodia is committed to continuous learning and improvement in all aspects. We support UPPSALA:2030, an accelerator for sustainable transformation. Together with other local companies, we address challenges, build relationships, and foster collaborations. In 2025, we will execute a double materiality analysis according to the CSRD methodology to continue developing and driving a business-focused approach to environmental, social, and governance-related issues. We will establish key performance indicators that we will measure and set goals around.
